Noche Dorada is an educational Scholarship Banquet created by the Hermanos of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Incorporated in efforts to embrace everyone in the spirit of familia, which is strong amoung the Latino community. During this spectacular event, we celebrate and take pride in the wonderful Latino culture. Despite the different nationalities, we come together as one to learn more about our history and cultural roots. Taking pride and being aware of where we come from is the first step in achieving an identity that is crucial for the advancement of our people.
Latinos are the fastest growing segment of the United States population. Sharing the rich cultural, political and historical perspective is important to ensure success in our learning and working environments. It is imperative to educate our youth in order to enhance their mental capabilities and help them understand how proud it feels to be a Latino. As we teach others, we are also reminded of the struggle that we face in order to achieve a higher level, where we can represent and educate our communties. In a world where assimilation is not only made feasible but beautiful, culture is not lost. Noche Dorada will serve as a reminder of our cultural background.
Noche Dorada enlightens and exposes the general community to the vast riches of the Latino culture, at the same time awarding Latino youth with scholarships in recognition of their success. Through our cultural Scholarship Banquet, we will expose patrons to an expression of thi culture for all to celebrate and enjoy. By increasing our awareness, highlighting our commonalities, and promoting understanding we can further appreciate as well as foresee the contributions that Latinos make within the Long Island community and within our society.
The purpose of the page is to help fund our Noche Dorada Scholarship banquet. By giving, you will be able to help the Hermanos at Stony Brook University achieve their goal in hosting its Scholarship Banquet and award deserving High School Latinos with Scholarships that will be used as tuition aid for their high education and collegiate careers. We are grateful for any donations made in efforts to help our philanthropy.
